The town of Beanwick is perplexed. The skies above are rumbling and no one knows why. If you (as Mickey or Minnie Mouse) can solve five mind-boggling puzzles, you'll earn the respect of the citizens of Beanwick and be allowed to find out what's going on in the clouds. You can play the various puzzles in any order you wish and return to any chamber as often as you like. Three difficulty levels are available: Cake, Medium and Challenging.
In Horace's Library, the books are a total mess. You must find the books with letters and place them in alphabetical order by hopping on them. In the easiest two levels, the letter books will automatically be selected while in the hardest level you must guess an eight-letter word. When all the books are in place, Horace will give you a book of spells.
When you go to Daisy's Art Gallery, you will find it very dusty. Using a ladder and a feather duster, you volunteer to clean the paintings and match them up in pairs. You must work quickly in order to finish the job before the gallery's lamps burn down and it gets too dark to see. When the task is complete, Daisy will reward you with a bar of gold.
As you enter Donald's Wizard Tower, you will accidentally get caught in the crossfire as Donald is practicing his shrinking spell. Now the size of a chess piece, you must push some special potions across a chess board and into a magic mirror in order to clear the board. Clear enough boards and Donald will give you a pair of spectacles.
You'll use a hammer to pound home your answers in Goofy's Blacksmith Shop. Thinking he can stump you, Goofy engages you in a game of "Guess What's in My Tool Box." In seven turns, you must guess which tools are in the box and in what order. When you have solved a certain number of games, you get to keep your hammer and move on to the next level.
Huey, Dewey and Louie's Drawbridge is the setting of a memory game in which you must unstick the water-powered bridge in the Castle of Beanwick. You must jump on five different pumps in a certain order as indicated by the pumps lowering and lighting up. After a sequence plays out and you get it right, the sequence repeats itself and adds another step. This goes on until the bridge indicator shows that the bridge is all the way down. Then, the eternally grateful Huey, Dewey and Louie will give you a glass slipper.
The bar of gold, hammer and other objects you have been given in each puzzle need to be returned to their rightful owners. You do this in exchange for magic beans. After you have collected all five magic beans, you must place the beans in a wishing well and then climb the resulting beanstalk into the sky in order to complete the final phase of the game.
Who or what awaits Mickey or Minnie up in the clouds? Why have the skies been rumbling? You'll have to play Mickey's Ultimate Challenge to find out!
